Lincoln being Lincoln

Tuesday, October 16, 2012

Andy was late getting home the other night so I was responsible for entertaining the little guy.  What was my chosen method?  Well my camera, of course.  I basically let him play around while I took pictures.  Here are a few of my favorites......  we were inside so I had to crank up the ISO.  I apologize for the extra "noise" in the pictures.  I still like them though.  I particularly love the look on his face in the second picture.  He looks like he's up to something!

By the way - I entered these pictures into a photography contest.  If you have a Pinterest account and you feel so inclined you can vote for my picture.  Whomever gets the most "likes" wins some really cool photography related prizes!   (I know - shameful plug)

See and See Again

I created this blog after being inspired by a class I attended at Gonzaga university several weeks ago.  So it seems only fitting to include some of the picture I took while on campus.  These pictures were taken during a class activity in which we had to "see and see again".  I was unable to share the pictures while in class because silly me forgot to change my camera settings from "raw" to "jpeg".  Hopefully some of my classmates will get to see them now!

Visit from Grandma

Monday, October 15, 2012

My Grandma and Aunt Carmen drove up from the Tri-Cities to visit this weekend.   While they were here I convinced them to stand in front of my camera for a few minutes.  Pictures include - my Grandma Birdie, my Aunt Carmen and my Mom Glenna.  I love these women!

Katie & Mike

Monday, October 8, 2012

Here's a peek at my shoot with Katie and Mike.  The theme of the shoot was "pumpkin patch" however, although it was October, it was bright, sunny and 70 degrees!  Sounds great, right?  Nope - not at 3pm when you are trying to take pictures - the sun is definitely not your friend at that time of the day!   With that being said, we basically stayed out of the pumpkin patch and found some much needed shade.  And, as you can see, I was still able to capture some pretty great pictures of them!  We will save the pumpkin patch for another day.  :)

Self Portrait

Friday, October 5, 2012

A few days ago I received my new remote control for my camera.  This $20 gadget opens up all kinds of photographic possibilities!  I was all alone this morning (no husband and no kiddo) so I took a self portrait.  After some editing this is what I ended up with.....

Yesterday we went for a morning walk on the Centennial trail.  I, of course, brought my camera for some impromptu pictures along the way.  Here are a few of my favorites....

Kindergarten Photo Shoot

Saturday, September 22, 2012

Earlier this month I had the pleasure of photographing a cute little girl named Madison. I knew she was starting Kindergarten this year so I suggested a "back-to-school" themed photoshoot. I collected a few props - like an antique wooden desk, a pull down map from the 1960's and of course some books and an apple! Madison ended up being a GREAT kid to photograph. Not only did she cooperate she even suggested different poses! I was very impressed and I loved the way the pictures turned out. Here are some of my favorites....
